Jürgen Fiedler PhD, born 1947, completed an apprenticeship in precision mechanics after which he received a grant from Carl Zeiss to study precision engineering at the University of Applied Sciences of Berlin and biomedical technology at the Technical University of Berlin. He then worked for several years as Head of Development at a German-Japanese medical-technology company, and obtained a doctorate from Hanover Medical School. Before training to become a patent attorney, Dr Fiedler worked for three years at the local-authority clinics in Kassel as Technical Director. Since 1994 he has been practising as a patent attorney in the field of industrial property law.

  • Court of Arbitration According to the Act Relating to Inventions of Employees (at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office)
  • Arbitration Board on the Assertion of Copyrights.

He is a member of the Patentanwaltskammer (German Chamber of Patent Attorneys), the Bundesverband Deutscher Patentanwälte (Federal Association of German Patent Attorneys), the FICPI (International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys), the GRUR (German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property), the VPP (Association of Industrial Property Experts) and the VDI (Association of German Engineers).
